Can you move a Wix site yourself?
Partly. Wix keeps the site itself on its own servers, so every route out copies what it can reach. Here is what each route brings to WordPress, going by Wix's own help pages.

Contact usCan you export a Wix site to WordPress?
Wix has no site export, but everything still has a way out. Store products, contacts and form entries come through Wix's own exports; blog posts, images (at full resolution), page copy, titles, descriptions and every URL are pulled from the live site; the design is rebuilt on native WordPress blocks, because Wix layouts do not transfer.
Will the new site look the same?
As close as you want it, and better on phones. Wix layouts are pixels placed on a canvas; WordPress layouts are blocks that reflow. We rebuild your design with patterns for each content type, so it holds together on every screen and loads far faster. If you would like a redesign on the way, that is quoted with the move.
Will I lose my Google rankings when I leave Wix?
Not if every URL is mapped. Wix URLs like /post/your-title and /copy-of-about are crawled before the move and each gets a one-to-one 301 to its WordPress address, tested before and after cutover. Titles, descriptions, and alt text move with the content, and Search Console is told about the move the same day.
Why is my Wix site slow, and will WordPress be faster?
Wix pages carry the editor runtime and absolute-positioned layouts with them on every visit, and you cannot tune the hosting or caching. Rebuilt on native blocks with hosting we configure, the same site typically goes from a mobile PageSpeed score in the 30s to the 90s. We measure yours before quoting and again before launch.
Do my domain and email move too?
Yes, and nothing goes dark. On the switch night the domain points to WordPress on a short timer, so both sites answer until everyone has caught up. If you bought the domain through Wix, it can move away from Wix later, at your pace: Wix emails the transfer code to the domain's contact address, a domain can't be transferred in its first 60 days, and a transfer takes up to a week. Email is untouched: mailboxes bought through Wix are Google Workspace, they stay active when your Wix plan ends, and we keep their records on the domain.
What happens to my Wix site after the move?
It stays live until the new site is live and checked. Then we unpublish it with you, so your domain leads only to WordPress and no second copy of your pages sits on a wixsite.com address. Left alone, a Wix site whose plan ends turns into a free one at that address, with Wix ads.
What happens to Wix Bookings, Events, or member areas?
Wix's own apps don't come with you. Each one gets a WordPress answer before the move: a maintained plugin where one fits (bookings, events, memberships) or a small custom plugin where none does. Their data is exported where Wix allows it. This is scoped and priced before you decide.
How long does a Wix to WordPress migration take?
One to three weeks for most sites, built beside your live Wix site the whole time. Page count, a store or bookings, and whether the design is rebuilt as-is or redesigned are what move it.
